World Animal Day is here.
We celebrate World Animal Day because we love animals! You too, eh? Or you wouldn’t be reading this. It’s a time when the world is a fractured place. But this one thing we have in common. We love ’em all — those living creatures we share this planet with. And now…
Project AnimalAid is a Boulder-based nonprofit. And is reaffirming its mission to improve animal health and promote environmental sustainability! All through collaboration and resource redistribution.
World Animal Day is an international day of action celebrated annually on Oct. 4. Raising awareness about animal welfare and promote compassionate treatment of all animals. Domestic, wild and farmed.
World Animal Day is observed in more than 100 countries. World Animal Day unites advocates, organizations, and communities in a shared commitment to protecting animals. Also advancing their well-being through education, advocacy, and action.
Project AnimalAid collects surplus veterinary equipment, technology, and medical supplies from hospitals (veterinary and human). Also manufacturers, zoos, and individuals, redistributing them, free of charge, to veterinarians and animal care professionals in underserved communities worldwide. This model not only improves animal welfare — from street dogs to endangered wildlife — but also reduces waste and supports environmental sustainability.
“World Animal Day reminds us that every act of kindness toward animals contributes to a healthier, more humane world,” said Meghan Curtis. Meghan is executive director of Project AnimalAid.
“Our work is rooted in the belief that improving animal welfare and reducing medical waste go hand in hand.”
